Our first Friends Group, to support running costs and new projects. It is like the one for Rock Road Library: £10 per year or whatever you can afford.

  • We have a simple 1 October start to our year.

Why a Friends Group?

We hope:

  • This will build a sustainable fund for:

    • Our annual insurance.

    • Other running costs. In 2022, we used it to fund materials for Learn and Grow sessions, chillouts and pizza making for children.

    • Tools for volunteers.

    • New projects. In 2022, we used it to fund materials for the playhouse.

  • It will build a new community for organising new activities related to the garden.

What it won’t be:

  • It will be a project of the main constituted group (of regular volunteers) and not replace it.

  • We have no aspirations to become a charity or become any ‘bigger’. We would always rather ‘garden, make and be sociable’ than administer.

  • Like the library Friends group, you won’t need to join the Group to enjoy the garden or attend events and activities. But you will get to know about them first.

* We will be very careful with your information - according to the current data protection laws. And also because we don’t want to collect more information than we need, we won’t share it beyond the Secretary. She will use it only for essential purposes of contacting you. We won’t hold your data for more time than we need it and we won’t pass it on. You can ask us at anytime what information we hold and we will remove it at any time on request.
